PRESS RELEASE
CANBERRA PHOTOGRAPHIC SOCIETY
ANNUAL EXHIBITION
Canberra Photographic Society will be holding its annual exhibition
of photographic images at Strathnairn Homestead Gallery from 10.00
am to 4.30 pm each weekend from Saturday July 12 to Sunday August
31 and is part of the
National Photography Festival.
This year's exhibition is entitled "Out of the camera,
Onto the wall"
Canberra Photographic Society is now in its sixty-fourth year and as such is one of Canberra's longest established community organisations.
"Out of the camera, Onto the wall will consist of over sixty photographic prints. Many of the images have been captured digitally, while others have been produced using traditional processes. The images reflect the wide range of interests and experiences of our members. In this exhibition will be seen, through the eyes of each photographer, some aspect of the world we live in. Some have looked close to home, finding images that depict life here in the National Capital and surrounds. Others have captured images of environments, people and animals from a diverse range of Australian and international locations. Still others have creatively manipulated their photographs of everyday objects and scenes to produce images that are sometimes whimsical, sometimes challenging.
The Strathnairn Homestead Gallery, in its delightful rural
setting, can be found 500 metres off Stockdill Drive, Holt, just
past the Belconnen Golf Course.
